Screened Kick
BASIC ATTACK - Deals 15 to 25 damage to your opponent. Cannot be Parried.

Wall of Steel
SPECIAL MOVE - Temporarily allows you to parry all melee attacks.

Defensive Stance
SPECIAL MOVE - A toggle skill that increases your defense and decreases your offense.

Formation Parry
SPECIAL MOVE - Provides a short duration increase in chance to Parry for you and a targeted ally.

Warning Shot
SPECIAL MOVE - Decreases your target’s Dodge, Block, and Parry ratings by 6 for 18 seconds.

In Quartarara
BASIC ATTACK - Deals Health damage bases on your weapon with a +10 bonus to your Melee Attack Bonus for the attack. Also gives you a +5 bonus to your block, and a +15 bonus to your dodge for 10 seconds after a successful attack.

Pressure
PREPARATORY ATTACK - An upgrade to Attack Au Fer, deals 12-22 additional balance damage, and has a 25% chance to reduce your targets damage by 10 for 10 seconds.

Riposte
SPECIAL MOVE - Can only be used after a successful parry. Deals 5-10 additional health damage with a +10 bonus to your Melee Attack Bonus for the attack. If successful, also gives you 10 initiative and restores 30 balance to you.

Mark
SPECIAL MOVE - Deals damage based on your weapon and reduces your targets initiative by 30 immediately, and another 48 over 8 seconds, if successful.

Reverse Elbow
SPECIAL MOVE - Deal 5-15 damage and, if successful, knocks the wind out of your opponent reducing his movement speed by 50% for 30 seconds. Cannot be Blocked or Parried.

Throw Sand
SPECIAL MOVE - Incapacitates all targets in a 90 degree arc 6 yards in front of you for 18 seconds. Taking Damage or Loosing Balance will break this effect. Players and some NPCs are immune to incapacitate.

Twist the Blade
PASSIVE SKILL - Increases the damage of all your cutlass attacks.

Reckless Maelstrom
FINISHING MOVE - Deals 10-25 additional health damage to all hostile targets within 4 yards. Costs 40 initiative, and 40 balance if successful.

Vicious Thrust
BASIC ATTACK - Deals Health damage based on your weapon and causes your target to bleed for 10 damage over 8 seconds.

Grenade
SPECIAL MOVE - An area-of-effect special attack that does 25-40 damage to your target and surrounding enemies.

Health Bar:

The health bars shows players Nationality, Name, Career and level.
The Red bar: Health
The Blue bar: Initiative
The Green bar: Balance

Radar:

Radar:
The radar is a compass that helps you to see what is in the area. The radar is labeled with the name of the port you inhabit, the affiliation of he port, and a list of who and what is around you.

The Local Map:
You can view the local map by pressing O. The local map gives you a view of your surroundings. Use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out on both the Radar and Local Map.

Land Map Key:
Gold arrow - indicates where your avatar stands on the map
Blue Arrows - Players in your group
Stars - Important NPCs
Special - NPCs with special jobs (Harbor Master, etc.)
Buildings - Duh

Sea Map Key:
Green Triangle: your ship
Narrow Triangles: Other Ships (color indicates threat level)
Flags: ports
Outlined Ships: Targeted ship (turn on the hurt)

World Map:
Access the world map by pressing M. This will allow you to see a map of the whole Burning Sea.

Window Palette:

This is your main menu. That blue bar at the top is your XP. You can mouse over the bar to see how much XP you have accumulated. When you level, the blue bar will empty.

Toolbar:

Each skill category has four different toolbars with 12 slots each. These are Swashbuckling, Sailing, Open Sea, and items. You can select different categories by using the drop down menu at the far right of the toolbar.

Each category has up to four additional toolbars for should your skills outnumber your slots. Cycle through the toolbars by clicking on the arrows to the right of the toolbar.

Click on the icon to activate the toolbar item. Shortcuts on the keyboard coordinate with the number keys from 1 to =. (11 is -, and 12 is =).

Customize your toolbars by selecting items from your inventory and dragging them into the toolbar.

One nice thing about the Chat interface is that it can be moved and resized. Start a conversation by clicking in the chat window or pressing enter and typing. When you are ready to send your message, press enter again.

To chat privately, type /tell followed by the character’s name, a comma, and your message. Example: /tell Black Beard, Avast me Matey!

There are 4 quick-keys that can help you in chatting:
[Ctrl R] - shows you a list of the last ten mates who have sent you a tell
[Ctrl Shift R] - same as previous, only in the opposite order
[Ctrl T] - shows you a list of the last ten mates you have sent a tell
[Ctrl Shift T] - same as previous, only in the opposite order

Other chat commands can be completed using different chat channels. Chat Channels are available by selecting from the drop down list at the lower left of the Chat UI or through commands:

/local - lets you speak to nearby players. This includes players in the same room or who are visible to you.
/group - for speaking to your group, with a maximum of six players. Group members can be located anywhere in the game world.
/society - to chat with your society members. Society members receive these messages no matter where they are in game world.
/area - for general communications within individual game areas of the world. When transitioning to another area you receive a chat message.
/conquest - for war-related communications and that reaches every player in your Nation. This chat requires the Navy Officer skill “Military Communications”.
/nation - for communications with other members of your Nation within individual game areas of the world. When transitioning to another area you receive a chat message.
/battle -for communications that reach a larger area or group of people (similar to a yell). For use during battles.
/trade - a special chat mode for Freetraders only. Requires the skill “Trade Connections”. This chat is meant for negotiating trades and information swapping.

Nationality:
Choose between British, Spanish, French or Pirate. Ar!

Gender:
Boobies or no boobies… that is the question.

Career:
You can choose between being a Naval Officer, Freetrader, Privateer, or Pirate. Should you choose to be a pirate, you cannot align yourself with any Nation or choose any other career. That be because no one wants ye, ye scurvy scum!

Appearance:
Change your avatar’s appearance to suit your swashbuckling personality. Detailed image creation includes Face, Hair, Facial Hair, Eyes, Hat, Neck, Coat, Vest, Shirt, Gloves, Waist, Pants, Boot Trim, and Boots. Don’t say you didn’t get any choices.
Some elements of character appearance can change during gameplay. More intricate clothing is available as you gain level and coveted items (such as peg legs and hooks) must be earned by completing missions.
